Dave Grohl
While Dave Grohl has been recognized by our readers as a Classic Drummer Hall of Famer, he could just as easily be recognized as a hall-of-fame front man, writer, producer, documentarian and more. Gaining prominence in the early 90s as the drummer for Nirvana, Dave has built a diverse career that includes co-founding and drumming with Them Crooked Vultures, founding and fronting the Foo Fighters, along with producing a variety of solo projects.
His session work with groups such as Garbage, Killing Joke, Kristeen Young, Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, The Prodigy, Slash, Iggy Pop, Juliette and the Licks, Tenacious D, RDGLDGRN, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Lemmy, Stevie Nicks, Zac Brown Band and Ghost displays his impressive musicality and passionate versatility. In fact, with a discography comprised of more than a hundred credits and counting, his recorded musical output is too vast to be effectively overviewed in the scope of this profile.
Today, Dave’s day job is as front man for Foo Fighters with his partner-in-the-pocket Taylor Hawkins on drums. While the group’s sold out tours and world wide record sales topping 20 million copies is enough to keep anyone busy, Dave Grohl continues to produce and deliver a continuous series of side projects, documentaries and films.
